David Leadbetter

David Leadbetter has managed to redefine the essence of a prodigiously effective leader. With more than 20+ years experience as a top producer and business trailblazer, his forward-looking approach to Risk Management and Risk Solutions has allowed him to form strong interpersonal relationships with symbolic insurer executives. David has lead instrumental nation-wide practices involving international brokerages, honing his ability to create best-in-class, bespoke insurance programs for Avail Risk Management & Consulting. His innovative viewpoint on business leadership has garnered him the Top 35 under 35 From the Business Insurance Magazine of Canada and Top 40 under 40 from Business Leaders in Ontario.

David has presented across North America to some of the top independent insurance and sales organizations, educating CEO’s, leaders, and senior management. As a 2-time gold medal-winning Canadian martial arts champion, representing Canada on the world stage, David strives to instill perseverance and discipline in those he leads while implementing a lead-with-love management style to foster a structured and nurturing environment.

David has sat on many not-for-profit boards, and that has given birth to the idea behind Avail Risk Management & Consulting; North America’s first insurance-based social enterprise and the only insurance brokerage donating a large percentage of all revenues back into the community.

Thomas Wright

Thomas Wright is a Partner and Vice President at Avail Risk Management Consulting
Inc., where he specializes in helping businesses navigate complex commercial
insurance needs through tailored solutions and hands-on advisory.

His focus is on optimizing coverage structures, challenging complacent broker relationships, and aligning insurance strategies with long-term business goals.

Thomas began his career at just 18 years old, selling life insurance door to door.

By 19, he had transitioned into commercial brokerage, where he developed deep expertise in risk evaluation, policy negotiation, and industry trends. After nearly a decade at his previous firm, he joined Avail to help lead its growth and client advisory services. As President of the Young Insurance Professionals of Toronto (YIPT), Thomas plays a leading role in shaping the next generation of insurance talent through professional development, mentorship, and industry collaboration.

With a focus on delivering clarity amid complexity, Thomas is passionate about helping clients and peers adapt to volatility and continues to shape the future of commercial insurance with a service-first mindset.

Senior Commercial Account Manager

TAYLOR SOUSA

Taylor leads Avail’s Account Executive team with a genuine passion for creating meaningful client experiences and building lasting relationships. She’s dedicated to fostering collaboration, communication, and trust with the clients that they serve. Taylor loves helping others succeed and takes pride in ensuring every client feels supported. When she’s not working with clients, you’ll find her spending time with her Labrador, Gryphon, who’s always by her side.

Accounting and Finance Manager

SONAM BAJAJ

Sonam leads the financial strategy and operations of the brokerage, bringing deep expertise in finance and risk management through her MBA and FRM credentials. She supports the company’s growth with a strong focus on financial discipline, analysis and long-term planning. Outside of work, she’s a proud mother of a three-year-old.
